Diane was born on April 10th, 1963 in Nevada to her loving parents; Scott and Pamela Reeves. Her childhood was uneventful growing up, though she was a bit sheltered compared to her classmates. It didn't stop her from making friends with the other young children in her neighborhood.Noah, Misty, Bobby, Dean, and Roxanne. They were inseparable, doing everything together from birthday parties and vacations to camping and sleepovers. Of course, they were all close but everyone knew that Diane and Misty were best friends. Even if the rest couldn't make it, Misty would always show up for Diane. As children get older, their interests tend to change and so do their friends. Misty and Diane, however? They never stopped talking for even a day. Roxanne had always been a well-liked girl and high school became her playground.Bobby joined their high school's football team, as he'd always wanted to do. This only made the crush Diane'd had on him since middle school worsen. Countless late nights were spent pouring her heart out to Misty over the phone about him. How she wished he'd just notice her. But, Bobby and Roxanne had been on and off dating since their freshmen year and Diane would never do anything to hurt Roxanne --even if they rarely talked anymore. But, Valentine's Day of Junior year came around and after encouragement from Misty, she put a note in Bobby's locker. It was anonymous, an outpouring of her feelings that she silently hoped he'd identify as her. But, of course, he didn't; he assumed the letter was from Roxanne. She took credit for it and later ranted about it to Misty, constantly pressing her if she knew who it was. After all, Misty was in the yearbook club, she knew almost every girl at the school. She had to know, right? It was during a late-night phone call a few days before Halloween that Misty finally cracked and told Roxanne about Diane. Misty thought that she'd be sympathetic but - no - she was furious. Diane was supposed to be one of her best friends, how could she betray her like that? Roxanne let it fester until she finally came up with a way to get her back. She invited Diane to her annual halloween party, one their entire school always attended. Roxanne then had Bobby write a note to her saying he'd known that the confession was from her and to meet him upstairs during Roxanne's party.Diane was ecstatic, calling Misty and telling her all about the note she'd received back from Bobby. Of course, Misty was suspicious, but why tell Diane that? She was so excited and happy and surely Roxanne wouldn't be holding what Misty had told her against her. Diane searched the aisles for a proper 'sexy' costume upon Noah and Dean's encouragement as they'd heard Bobby wanted to kiss her. Diane scanned the aisles of the store until finding something that her allowance would buy her; a lamb costume. It was fairly basic and showed enough skin for Diane to consider it 'sexy' but not be uncomfortable. Plus, she insisted to Misty that the mask that came with it would add an air of 'mystery'. Like Phantom of The Opera!Roxanne's Halloween Bash of 1979 finally came around and Diane's stomach was filled with butterflies. She was almost too nervous to go inside. As soon as she set foot in the door; Roxanne welcomed her and pushed a drink into her hand. Diane tried to give it back while nervously muttering that she didn't drink. However, Roxanne insisted, it was a party and she needed to loosen up just for one night! She wouldn't let her have anymore after. Diane reluctantly agreed and sipped on the drink most of the night, not fully understanding the way people seemed so excited to see her at the party. People who rarely even spoke to her. Then, after she finished her drink, Bobby finally came and found her.He brought her upstairs with him and into Roxanne's bedroom. Unbeknownst to Diane, the drink Roxanne had given her was spiked and the effects began to kick in as soon as she was taken upstairs. She could barely stand up, Bobby having to help her even walk up the stairs. Were Diane not so unaware of her surroundings -- she likely would've heard Noah, Dean, and Roxanne hiding in her closet, laughing at her state. Diane reacted badly to the drugs that had been mixed into her drink and the moment Bobby leaned in to kiss her -- she puked on him as well as herself. The only hint Misty got that something was wrong was hearing Bobby yell upstairs shortly after Diane had disappeared with him. She came up the stairs to see her best friend; passed out on Roxanne's bed and covered in her own vomit. Misty hadn't even seen the camera Noah was hiding from her, immediately taking Diane home and helping clean her up. The next day; Diane barely remembered anything. But the polaroids of her drunk and covered-in vomit that Roxanne had printed and pasted on everyone's lockers told her some of the story. The kids lining the halls laughed as soon as they saw Diane. She was frozen, feeling on the verge of fainting before Misty finally got the principal and she was escorted up to the office. Her parents were called and told about the situation. Of course, they wanted to come get their daughter immediately. She needed time to process, the comfort of her parents. They argued for most of the short drive -- before a drunk driver crashed into them and ran them off the road. Scott was killed almost instantly but Pamela wasn't as lucky. She suffered severe damage to her spinal cord and brain, rendering her fully catatonic. Custody of Diane was passed to her god-father, a man she'd never met due to his reluctance to leave his home. Rufus Reeves, her father's brother who lived in South Dakota on his sheep farm. Diane's mother was transferred to a hospital close by so the two could visit frequently.Misty wrote her constantly -- for a few years at least. It became obvious that Diane wasn't going to answer anything she sent her so Misty stopped trying. Rufus chose to homeschool Diane so she could help on the farm, furthering her isolation. It was difficult enough to go from a fairly average teenage life to a labor-intensive one where she seldom saw anyone besides her uncle and mother once a week. Only one of them ever spoke back to her. The worst part of working on the farm was slaughtering, for Diane at least. Rufus made a large chunk of his money by selling mutton and lamb. Diane was never the one who had to kill the animals but she did have to watch, helping Rufus move the bodies for processing as well as bringing in the selected sheep and lambs for slaughter. The first few nights she frequently had nightmares about her uncle bringing the massive axe he used down on lambs. In 1984, Diane was sitting with her mother as usual. Rufus still brought her because he believed it was only right for them to do so. Diane had grown to hate it. She no longer associated the woman staring blankly in her bed with her mother. It was a corpse being kept alive by medical science. Diane didn't believe that her mother would've wanted this either. So, her solution was to pinch the tube supplying her oxygen shut. Diane watched as the machines began flatlining and was emotionless when doctors rushed her out of the room to attempt to save Pamela.Rufus had his suspicions that Diane might've played some part in Pamela's death but what was he supposed to do? Confront her about it? Take his brother's only daughter to the police? It started to get harder to fight the urge to tell someone about his suspicions as Diane became more withdrawn. She'd spend all day in her room, only leaving to attend to chores around the farm at which point she'd flat-out ignore Rufus. He spoke to his drinking buddies about his concerns and they encouraged him to get her out of the house. He chose to do what his own father did for him and Scott when their mother died. He took Diane out into the South Dakota wilderness on what was going to be a two-week-long hunting trip. Diane took an interest in the snares and traps he showed her how to create, Rufus taking this as a sign that he was finally getting through to her. It was in a hunter's blind that Rufus drank an entire six-pack of coors before pouring his heart out to Diane. He expressed his worries for her but told her that ultimately, he believed she was going to be okay. He left the blind to use the bathroom and stumbled off into the dark. Not but a few minutes later; Diane heard him scream. She grabbed his flashlight and began looking for him, finding him caught in one of his own bear-traps. Diane stared in disbelief as he wailed in pain and begged her to find the ranger's station. Instead, she sat down next to where he was bleeding out. She spoke very calmly and admitted to what she'd done in the hospital. Diane opened up to him for the first time in months, explaining her state of mind. That she'd wanted to make people hurt the way she did for a very long time. That she was so angry that the people who caused all of this were currently living their lives and probably hadn't thought of her in years. She couldn't let them get away with it.It took hours before Rufus finally bled out. Diane waited a while with his body before using the polaroid camera he'd brought along to snap a picture. She reported to the ranger's station that her uncle hadn't come back to the hunter's blind in hours and she was very worried. When they discovered the body and the copious amount of alcohol in his blood -- it seemed like a tragic accident. Diane was left her uncle's land and his farm. She chose to sell the sheep, with the exception of two lambs she was attached to.Whilst Diane was going through Rufus's belongings looking to sell more things -- one of Rufus's friends showed up at the farm. Diane welcomed him inside and spoke with him over a cup of coffee. He was there to confront her about her uncle's death. After everything Rufus had confided in them at the bar, he didn't believe that his death was a mere accident. Diane smiled at him and told him she understood why he felt that way. She asked him to wait for a moment before leaving as she believed she had something Rufus would've wanted to give him. Diane brought him out to the bar where she took the axe he'd been using to kill sheep for years and murdered the man.The exhilarating feeling of taking a life with her own hands was one that Diane hadn't experienced and would never forget. It was the sensation she'd been searching for her whole life -- control.Between 1985 and 1988, Diane experimented. The idea of creating snares large enough to catch humans wasn't complicated but more difficult to create than one might believe. She needed test subjects and the easiest way to go about that was through placing ads in the paper. She'd often cite that she needed a repair done on the farm. In the off-chance that someone got away, she didn't want them to be able to identify her and would frequently wear her lamb mask. The same one from the night of Roxanne's Halloween party all those years ago. She then chased them, axe in hand, towards where she'd set up the snares. It took several months of trial and error to finally create a successful trap. One that wouldn't fatally wound its captive but injure and slow them enough for her to catch them. The walls of her uncle's old trophy hunting room soon became filled with blueprints of traps and polaroids of her victims.1989, ten years after her parent's accident. Ten years after Roxanne ruined her life. It wasn't easy for Diane to find the names and numbers of her old friends. Roxanne and Bobby, predictably, were still continuing their on/off again relationship though were cheating on their spouses to pursue it. Noah had never left town and after several harassment charges pressed against him, the only job he could find was working as a janitor. Dean went on to find a cozy desk job and a wife and kids. Misty, however, Misty was the most difficult to find out of all of them. She hadn't spoken to any of them after the accident and had left town ages ago. But, Diane eventually found her; struggling to sell her art while working a day job at a diner. She extended an invitation to all five of them -- she wanted to reconnect and asked if they'd come out to the farm.Misty was the one who convinced them to say yes, saying they owed it to her after what Roxanne had done and everything that happened. When they showed up, Diane greeted them, playing the hostess and catching up with them. As the night progresses, Diane disappears while citing that she has some things to take care of around the farm. Noah was the first to go, stumbling into the backyard after helping himself to a bottle of tequila. Diane left his body for the others to find and then promptly chased them into the wooded area surrounding the farm. Everyone met their fate at the hands of Diane -- but she especially drug out Roxanne's death. The only one who didn't die so quickly or easily was Misty. She got caught in one of her traps but managed to narrowly escape and fled the farm. Diane knew it was now too risky to stay in South Dakota after Misty had gotten away and discovered everything. Diane got her emergency funds and fled the state -- never to be seen again.

1989, THE SENECA BUTCHER ( V.1 )Misty went to the police after her narrow escape from the Reeves farm that night. They raided the farm, of course, finding the bodies of Roxanne, Bobby, Dean, and Noah. Further inspection of the farm trying to find hints to Diane's whereabouts led to the discovery of forty-eight more bodies buried around the property. The bodies were dismembered and thus identification was a struggle. The story broke the news immediately -- after all, it wasn't every day that a serial killer was discovered living among a small town's residents and seemingly disappeared without a trace. A high price was put on any information leading to her capture but Diane had been planning this scenario for years. After all, she did like to plan things very thoroughly. Diane fled the state -- fake birth certificate, fake ID, and fake passport in hand. She was already in Wyoming by the time the news properly broke and watching everyone around her talk fascinatedly about 'the seneca butcher' inflated her ego. The case, of course, died down as all trails leading to her capture went cold.
1996, BED AND BREAKFAST ( V.2 )Diane had lived North all her life and when looking for a fresh start, it seemed logical to go as far away as possible. So, she fled to the Southern states; Texas. She picked out a cozy house and advertised her spare room for people to rent out. Diane has since tried to settle down and live her life normally but that hasn't stopped little...accidents. Sometimes a renter will just snoop around too much, natural human curiosity. Diane has always taken care of it if it seems like her secret is at risk.
DEAD BY DAYLIGHT ( V.3 )Moments before Diane was going to kill Misty -- a thick fog consumed the both of them. Now Diane was given free rein to hunt to her heart's content.
MODERN ( V.4 )This is just a general over-arching verse for if I need to adjust her timeline to write with a certain muse. All events are the same/nothing has changed.
hello, i'm envy <3 i'm 24, a taurus, infp-t and a horror fanatic. if you are under eighteen please do not interact with this blog. due to the nature of diane's backstory and who she is as a character; this blog will contain dark themes in line with 80's slasher films. this blog is considered low activity because my attendance is very sporadic and based entirely on if i feel like writing or not.
this blog is private, meaning i only write with mutuals and i am pretty selective in who i follow back. i follow based solely on writing-style, while i can appreciate pretty blogs, they simply don't factor into reasons why i follow or don't.
i use small gif icons made by other creators from pre-made gif packs. if you ever want to know where i got a gif, feel free to message me. every other graphic on this blog is made by me.
if you unfollow me, please just block me, it makes things easier and less awkward for me.
diane is a villain. there is, for reasons i can't really fathom, a massive stigma attached to villains and the people who write them. we don't like or tolerate that on this blog. mun =/= muse and people need to grow up to just be so honest. by following me, you're acknowledging and okay with the fact that i'm writing a character who not a good person.
as implied above, diane isn't a good person. she may try to harm your muse, she will not always be polite. she suffered severe bullying as a child and was the victim of a situation in which videos of her were posted without her permission. if this is something that you believe bother you, you shouldn't follow me. i will not tone her down for anyone.
i struggle with writing starters so the easiest way to get an interaction started with me is to send in a meme. feel free to come into my dms for plotting at any time.
do not force ship! that's it! just don't!
